The Chair called the meeting to order at 8:00 am.

The Minutes of the meeting of May 14, 2019 were circulated for the Committee's information.  The minutes have been approved at a prior Council meeting.

The CAO is awaiting to hear from Brian McDougall to see when the agreement between the St. Clair Region Conservation Authority regarding Waterfront Park can be reviewed together.  

The Operations Manager is still pursuing an adequate solution for the drainage issue.

Representatives of the Elks Lodge would like to have a media event with a formal photo op in recognition of the Jenn Swing donation. 

This item is to be brought forward.

The Operations Manager advised that the County has approved Point Edward's request for the 15-meter setback on Michigan Avenue. 

Point Edward's painting machine is in need of replacement parts before line painting can take place.  If the painting machine is not operational before line painting is to begin, the Operations Manager will request to borrow Bluewater Bridges painting machine. 

The Operations Manager has been working with the Treasurer to discuss curb cut policy, pricing, and invoicing. 

The planter box will be placed on a concrete slab in the Monk Street dead end garden so that it can be removed during winter months for safekeeping. 

The Joint Health and Safety Committee (JHSC) inspections were reviewed by the Committee for both the Arena and Public Works Departments.

The Operations Manager reviewed the Arena monthly report for May.  

Forest City Fire is coming for inspections Monday, June 17, 2019.

A quote for LED lighting in the hallways, and public washroom area in the Arena was shared among the Committee.

The Operations Manager discussed the reasoning for having a company come in to do labeling of the electrical panels in the facility, and said that he will obtain a quote to have this work completed.

The CAO will bring a cost to Council for new hardware to boost the WiFi in the Arena.

    THAT the quote for the LED lighting in the amount of $6,160.76 be approved, and THAT the funding come from the Provincial Efficiency grant received earlier this year.

Mayor Hand and the CAO will meet with the Sarnia-Lambton Native Friendship Centre and Point Edward Minor Athletic Association to discuss questions or concerns with the impact of Indigenous-themed sports logos in the Village facilities. 

The Operations Manager reviewed the Public Works monthly report for May. 

Rain sensors and temperature sensors for the splashpad were discussed.  The Operations Manager is waiting to hear back if rain sensors are an option, and will also ask about temperature sensors to see if they are an option as well. 

Portable bbq concerns were discussed and the CAO will investigate if there is a policy against portable bbq's being utilized in Point Edward parks. 

The CAO will get in touch with Aamjiwnaang to do a photo op and discuss the details of the garden. The CAO is to set up date and time.

Traffic bollards will be ordered and installed for Alfred Street.

The Committee discussed speeding, and the Operations Manager indicated that the speed spy will be going up today.  

The CAO and Operations Manager will have the speed spy put in place at areas of concern, and have a report for the next Council meeting.

Discussion is to come back to the next Committee meeting. 

Notices have been mailed out to property owners.  In the notice itself is a request of property owners who have tenants to share the information.

This item to be discussed with the Fire Department and then come back to the Committee.

    THAT the financial statements for the Arena for the period ending May 31, 2019 be received and filed.

The next meeting of the Operations Committee will be held July 9, 2019 at 8:00 am.
